Shawna started her dream of Shawna's Dogs back in her apartment with her husband Andy over 15 years ago. After moving to a larger space at Healthy Pet Center, then again to Hannay Lane in 2014, Shawna's Dogs has turned into a place of solitude for dogs and people alike.
With heavy hearts, we share the news that Shawna has passed away peacefully in December 2025.
She was so much more than the owner of this business. She was a force, a friend, a mentor, and the heart of a community. Her reach was incredible, so many of us in the dog world are connected because of her passion, her generosity, and the way she brought people (and pups) together. This business, and the community around it, is a reflection of the love and care she poured into everything she did. We know she would want this place to continue exactly as she built it—with consistency, compassion, and dedication to the dogs and people we serve. Business will continue to operate as usual, and I will continue running daily operations, just as I have for many years, honoring her vision every step of the way.
We are forever grateful to be part of the community she created, and we will carry her legacy forward, together
